Troubleshoot door lock strike wont slide.
It s an easy fix.
Adjustable strike plate not properly aligned.
Close the door and test the fit.

Realign reshim readjust lockside jamb so door meets weatherstrip evenly from top to bottom.
It needs to spring into the recess in the door strike to keep the door closed.
Apply a lubricant to both upper and lower tracks to keep the door hardware clean and operating freely.
Line up the back of the replacement door strike with the narrow opening in the body of the dishwasher.
Step 3 place the cardboard.
Realign adjustable strike plate.
Place the cardboard behind the strike plate.
Try to open the door while it is shut.
Slide the door strike in the opening making sure the back of the strike slides into the small.
For some door locks you might need to file off sections of the strike plate for it to fit properly.
Place the top screw in and tighten it slightly.
You will need to simply take the lock off the door.
The cardboard should be exactly the same size as the strike plate.
This sliding glass door lock was not working.
The door is not meeting the weatherstrip evenly when it closes hitting the top or bottom first.
The lock won t latch at all.
Ideally the bolt should rest flush within the strike plate.
Unscrew the strike plate and reposition it.
This creates unnecessary friction as the metal bits of the lock attempt to slide past one another or get out of the way of other moving parts.
The best way to lubricate any lock is to disassemble it and use an aerosol lubricant to flush away grime and coat the moving parts of the lock.
It did not latch shut.
The thicker the cardboard the harder it may be to cut but it could save you from having to use several pieces while packing it out.
This gunk and grime can impede the movement of springs as well.
In addition to cleaning and lubricating sliding door tracks you want to lubricate the door lock.
From there try some lubricant silicone spray and graphite powder are my preferred lubricants for locks wd 40 will quickly dry and attract dirt.
You can unscrew the door knob and remove both sides then unscrew the latch and pull it out of the door.
